The Metal Mouth Crystal Features a crystal calling surface over a concave aluminum sound board set in a ebony stained sycamore pot. The design of the metallic sound board makes for nasty yelps with effortless roll over. Paired with both a one piece turned striker and a two piece striker, the Metal Mouth Crystal allows for a full range of calls. This call is pure turkey.
Turkey season over so was not able to use in Field. However, in the house the sound is great and the workmanship is wonderful.
I got this call late in the spring season for pressured birds and connected on a nice bird.The craftsmanship in this call is very nicely done and the sound and tone is phenomenal the rollover in the yelps is by far the best. You can run kee kees to a yelp effortlessly. Can't wait to really use it next spring turkey. By far it's a call worth the money if you want a call that is pure turkey this is the call to get.

I've been using David's calls for years with great success in the field! During the 2020 Missouri spring turkey season, I harvested a mature gobbler with the Crystal Mistress. The hunt lasted only 15 minutes. The following week, still in Missouri, I filled my last tag in an hour using the Twisted Sister. Two tags. Two long beards. Just over an hour of hunting. It doesn't get much better than that! I've contemplated purchasing the Metal Mouth II for a couple of years before finally pulling the trigger. Like all of David's calls, it did not disappoint! It will be the first call out of my vest this season! What I like best about David's calls is that they are always consistent in quality and extremely easy to play. He personally tests every call before it goes out the door. I appreciate that. You can't say the same about the cheapie over-the-calls. I firmly believe that you'll never be disappointed in any of David's calls. He has a reputation of being an extremely nice young man and one of the best turkey call makers in the United States.
Love the sound of this call, but I don’t love the design of the pot. The edge around the top of this call is so sharp it feels like it could actually cut you. This is my third Halloran pot call, and all three have this same sharp edge. Obviously, I deal with it, because I love the sound of these calls. However, I think it’s worth mentioning. I have no idea why they don’t sand or chamfer this edge. I usually do so myself with some sandpaper, but I ALWAYS hate sanding this edge on a brand new call because doing so takes the stain/finish off of the edge.
