Description

This new call features green slate from the state of Vermont set in a zebrawood, Purvian walnut, and poplar laminate pot. The combination results in an extremely lively slate call. Great for both soft calling and excited aggressive calling. Each call comes with one striker.

    I’ve got a problem!

Published by Adam Severson on Mar 25th 2020

I’ve got a problem...or two. First, I’ve got a WH slate cherry pot that is only a year old and that I no longer have a need for nor do I want to give it away to a hunting friend because David’s green slate is going to blow it out of the woods every time. Second, I think my wife is getting suspicious of my new addiction to David Halloran turkey calls, oh well.

Like the other guy said, if you think you have the perfect slate call, you obviously haven’t tried this one yet.

    THE ULTIMATE SLATE CALL

Published by John CO on Feb 17th 2020

This call makes the sweetest slate sounds I have ever created. Be sure to pick up a few extra strikers because this pot is capable of making a number of perfect pitches. It is also a very beautiful call. I have owned a number of stale pots and this one is my absolute favorite. If you already own what you consider to be the perfect slate, I would encourage you to invest in this one. I am willing to bet you will discover a new level of perfect.

    regret not buying it sooner

I ordered this call mid season last spring and didn't think I would get it before the end of the season, because I ordered it late. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived the day before the season ended. Last day of the season I was working a bird that was call shy with my new green slate call, the tom couldn't resist it, it was his last mistake. While I was working the tom my shotgun fell off my knee and the rear site put a deep gouge in the slate. I thought it was reined, to my surprise it did not affect the sound quality, as I stated the tom couldn't resist it. I'm hoping it doesn't crack in the future. It made me sick that it happened.. I wish I could've had this call 40 years ago, I have tried many slate calls and wasted a lot of money on them that I wish I could get back.. If I could only have 1 call the rest of my life this is the one I want.. My son has the same call and has said the same thing I have, this call will bring them in when nothing else will !! I have used box, mouth, glass and slate calls for 40 plus years and this green slate call is a tom killer !! The best call I've ever had... I could ramble on about it. Bottom line, the sound is that good you will not regret buying it...

    Calling ALL turkeys!

I used the call for stubborn hard hunted osceloas, wary Indians easterns, and ghost Iowa birds last year. Missed the Osceola by my own error, but the Midwest birds left wingbeat impressions in the soft ground as they flopped. My favorite pot call.
