The slate over glass call is an excellent call for closing the distance. Soft clucks, yelps and purrs can be reproduced with ease. And if the need for more aggressive calling arises, don't be afraid to hit'em with some loud yelps and sharp cutting. Each call comes with a striker.
I bought this same call about 12 or so years ago. Really enjoyed it and was the best slate I’ve ever owned, until it cracked in my vest. Replaced it with this one and it’s good, but not quite as lovely as my old one. Doesn’t hit that ringy/raspy tone quite yet but think it will as it ages a little.
Excellent call, along with quality. Highly recommend any of Daves calls! I also own the Crystal Mistress, both are great sounding calls!

I just got the cherry slate call. I own four of David’s pot calls, a couple box calls, a leather holster, several strikers and mouth calls. This call along with all the other calls are all top quality in craftsmanship and they all sound great. Once you get one of David’s calls it is hard not to want one of everything he makes. I own other custom calls and David’s are some of the best.
