Purchased this Ebony and Black Limba box call as a gift for my brother who is just getting into turkey hunting. I had to test it of course, and it sounds outstanding! Pure turkey! The call is easy to run, and should work well for the intended purpose. This is my 4th checkered short box call purchase from David Halloran since 2014. All have been outstanding calls!
Truly impressive. The tones and action of this box call is excellent. It has great feel and weight to it. The density of the paddle allows for great and contact with the call. No skipping off. I look forward to using this call. The craftsmanship is also a work of art. On those long sits it will be a pleasure to look at. Highly recommend.
Quite simply...the deadliest box call on planet Earth. David's use of a heavier than normal lid makes purrs and whines so easy, yet still has a sharp cluck and excellent rollover when yelping....my favorite to start a bird up.
The call looks great - I really like the weight - feels good in the hand and the size is a little shorter then most box calls which i like Most of all it will sound like a turkey
I got this box in 2018 and I absolutely love it. The sound is great and it’s very easy to run. Yelps and cuts are so clear you better be ready cause he’s coming quick! I can’t wait to see what coming in 2020.
By far the best running box I own. Actually this is my second one. A friend of mine bought the first one right off of me in the woods right after we killed a big longbeard!
