A checkered short box with a macassar ebony paddle paired with a black walnut box. This is one of David's favorite combinations. The combination produces a high front end with a shril raspy back end yelp that is pure turkey.
I bought this as a retirement gift for a good friend and co-worker. He opened it and made a comment on how beautiful it was. Then let out some yelps, clucks and purs. Perfection.

Called in a longbeard on the first day I used it. Rainy day and everyone was complaining the turkey's weren't talking. This call had them hammering. The craftsmanship is exceptional, the tone is pure turkey from soft purrs to loud cutts, and it sounded right straight out of the box. Worth every penny. Customer service was top notch as well. Highly recommend this call and the people behind it.

I love the call and it sounds great. I will say though that I have to put pressure on the lid to get it to sound right but in the Sitka video he demonstrates that the paddle doesn't have to have pressure on it. So idk if mine just has a lighter lid or what, still the best looking and sounding box call I've ever owned. Absolutely worth every penny
