This call is a best seller and one of my personal favorite combinations. This checkered short box has a purple heart lid paired with a cedar box. This call can do it all, from loud locating to close range purrs. The cedar box is makes it easy to use with a lot of great rasp.

My girlfriend got this for me for my birthday and I love it. It has a heavier lid that makes the call super easy to use compared to most box calls and it has great yelps, clucks, and even purrs. It has a little higher pitched tone which is what I was hoping for, but you can work in a good amount of rasp as well. This is my second DH call and I don't think I'll ever use another brand of box call again both calls are works of art.

Every call I have used since seriously beginning to turkey hunt has come from David. The first being a pot call as a gift from a Georgia congressman. This is the first box call I’ve bought as a Father’s Day gift for my dad and let me say this is an incredible call well worth the price. I’m looking forward to getting my own soon. I’m not a very good caller. I’ve been using a glass pot call and haven’t been very consistent with it. My cousin said to check out David’s calls. After watching some videos and based on an email recommendation from David I went with the Purple Heart and Cedar. It sounds really good, even with my sub par calling skills. It is very consistent, and has a deep raspy sound that is easy to make. This is what I was looking for, a good consistent sound. The craftsmanship is amazing, I’m also considering getting the leather holster to protect it. Give this call a try, you will not be disappointed.
This box call is worth every penny!!!! Very realistic yelps !!! Also buy the recomended chalk with the box or you will be ordering it later. The box call play's effortlessly with the blue chalk and keeps the realistic sound way better then the red chalk I previously had !!!!
