This checkered short box has a purple heart lid paired with a Sapele box. The Purple Heart & Sapele combination is a smooth running call that really excels at mid-range calling. The call will give you plenty of volume when you need it but tones down quickly for softer yelps and purrs.

At the Turkeyrama in Perry, GA, Mr. Halloran was gracious with his time and tutored my daughter for 15-20 minutes with several different boxes. She did the best with the Sapele. The morning after we got home, she played a series of yelps and had a gobbler answer her calling from the back deck. Something tells me that bird will be in serious trouble in about 6 weeks!
