A checkered short box with a macassar ebony paddle paired with a black walnut box. This is one of David's favorite combinations. The combination produces a high front end with a shril raspy back end yelp that is pure turkey.
Beautiful piece of craftsmanship and sounds great. Almost too nice to take hunting……almost. Really looking forward to see if the turkeys like it as well as I do.
Craftsmanship at its best! The sound is awesome. A beautiful looking call. I’m so glad I purchased this call. Made in USA, Upstate NY, just being from NY , just adds to my appreciation . Awesome job on an awesome call. This along with my crystal mistress and she devil, have me tagged out !Thank you!
I like the heavy weight of the box and the fact you can lean into it (press harder) and still get good tone. Great raspy sound. The only complaint I have is the lid is light colored and not dark ebony like the images on your site. Quality is superb otherwise. Will order from you again. Thanks.
Amazing quality and sound
This is the best box turkey call I’ve ever had. Worth every dollar. I will be ordering more!
Absolute work of art and impressive attention to detail. If you were to buy this call for the looks alone you could sit it on a mantel and know you got your moneys worth. The sound is pure, cutting to raspy yelps and even gobbles.
I bought this call las year. It is a great box call. It is by far the best box call I've purchased, and I've owned quite a few and sold a lot of them at flea markets. It sounds like pure turkey. I'm always looking for that perfect sounding box call and I finally found it. Thanks David and keep putting out great calls! Jack Ross
Beautiful workmanship, great sound, looking forward to May.
Best sounding box call I ever used! Mr. Halloran makes the best turkey calls out there.
I am a box call nut! Have tried a bunch store bought and custom. This call is by far the best sounding box i own. And while that big Tom don't care what it looks like. The craftsmanship is impeccable ! It will be the the last thing that old long beard hears! TD.
