I carried an old Lynch World Champion box calls for years and thought I would never replace it. Well I am here to tell you that it has been replaced by David’s Ebony & Walnut checkered short box call. The box call has to be one of the most underutilized calls on public lands. I never leave home without one and David’s Ebony & Walnut short box is a game changer. I use it to fire up tight lipped gobblers or as a changeup on hung-up birds. It really excels where other calls fall short. Yes the call is a little pricey but you literally get what you pay for. David makes a great product that will last you for years. Based on my almost 40 years of calling turkey across the country on public lands, he probably makes several of the best turkey calls on the market today.
Call breaks over hard with a lot of rasp, the clucks are very realistic. From the first time you put it in your hand it just feels like quality

Check out the hunter’s comments posted before mine. They’re very accurate in their descriptions of this top of the line call. I slid this out of its holster and saw my name neatly engraved … which was a good surprise since I forgot I ordered that feature. After hearing the sounds she makes, I won’t be able to leave her home to simply admire until my time in the field wanes. Then she’ll serve as an anchor for fond memories until my grandson can truly appreciate Mr. Halloran’s fine craftsmanship.
