A checkered short box with a macassar ebony paddle paired with a black walnut box. This is one of David's favorite combinations. The combination produces a high front end with a shril raspy back end yelp that is pure turkey.
Best box call excellent quality and sound compared it to some of my other box calls they can’t touch David’s calls! In my opinion he is the best call maker out there his pot calls are awesome as well !

I carried an old Lynch World Champion box calls for years and thought I would never replace it. Well I am here to tell you that it has been replaced by David’s Ebony & Walnut checkered short box call. The box call has to be one of the most underutilized calls on public lands. I never leave home without one and David’s Ebony & Walnut short box is a game changer. I use it to fire up tight lipped gobblers or as a changeup on hung-up birds. It really excels where other calls fall short. Yes the call is a little pricey but you literally get what you pay for. David makes a great product that will last you for years. Based on my almost 40 years of calling turkey across the country on public lands, he probably makes several of the best turkey calls on the market today.
